On June 1st, 2021, in response to the call of the Municipal Science and Technology Museum and in order to highlight the spirit of serving and contributing to the society, Grade 8 students of Anqing Foreign Language School's Junior High Department carried out the theme activity of ‘Volunteer Service of Science and Technology Museum’ in the Municipal Science and Technology Museum.
To be concrete, ten volunteers arrived at the gate of the Municipal Science and Technology Museum at 2.30 P.M. and officially started their volunteer activities. The staff first explained the matters needing attention when volunteers served in the exhibition hall, and then assigned service positions to the students. Today's volunteer activities are mainly to explain knowledge to visitors, guide the operation of equipment and maintain order in the Science and Technology Museum. As a matter of fact, Science and Technology Museum, as a public science venue, plays a very important role in spreading scientific knowledge and displaying scientific achievements. With the explanation of the volunteers, many visitors to the museum have increased their interest in learning scientific knowledge. In the process of volunteer service, students felt completely dry in the mouths, however, they felt full in their hearts. Maybe that's what volunteerism is all about: helping others and making yourself happy!
In a nutshell, the event came to a successful end, and all the volunteers who participated in the volunteer service activity agreed that the event was of great significance in that this volunteer activity not only trained the students' language expression ability, practiced the spirit of volunteer service, but also popularized scientific and technological knowledge for the young students who visited the Science and Technology Museum!
